Cheap Flights To Jersey

The largest of the Channel Islands and an intoxicating fusion of French and British cultures, Jersey is a haven for sun-seekers, wildlife enthusiasts and history buffs alike. Not only is the island flanked by some of the most glorious, pristine and unspoilt beaches but boasts the most spectacular views from the island's majestic clifftops. Moreover, visitors to the island, particularly those who love to shop, will find many bargains as Jersey is exempt from charging Value Added Tax on goods. In addition, Jersey is renowned for its appetising fare and a vast selection of restaurants and eateries.

Records indicate that the earliest human activity dates back more than 200,000 years before Jersey became an Island. It is widely believed that rising sea levels, almost 6,000 years ago, resulted in a vast swathe of land mass being submerged and subsequently, the island was formed. The island was also occupied by humans during the Neolithic period and megalithic monuments known as the Dolmans provide further evidence that communities occupied the land. Visit in August and marvel at one of the island's most popular festivals known as the Halkett Hoedown. This large street party features Americana, Country, Folk and Blues music performed by both local artists and those from further afield. Additionally, the event features arts and crafts, workshops and competitions.

Things To Do

Whatever your interests, Jersey has something for everyone. Soak up the sun on one of the island's glorious beaches or feast on the local fare after shopping in one of the many artisan markets.

  • For the beach lovers

St Brelade's Bay was voted number three in Trip Advisor's Travellers Choice Awards. This fine beach is southwards facing and consequently, basks in the sun for the majority of the day.

  • For the foodies

Tickle your taste buds by visiting Oyster Box in St Brelade's Bay. This quaint, family-run restaurant boasts a menu of freshly caught, local catch. Sample the Lobster Thermador or feast on pan fried hake in seafood sauce.

  • For the shopaholics

Set amid the pretty harbour of St. Aubin lies the island's most popular artisan market. Browse the selection of handcrafted goods such as silver jewellery, pottery, artwork and sculptures, all of which are exempt from VAT.

Calander of events

  • Halkett Hoedown

Occurring every August, Halkett Hoedown is a huge street party. Revellers are treated to performances by local artists and those from further afield, performing Blues and Americana music, country and Folk. In addition, workshops, competitions and arts and crafts are offered to festival goers.

  • Battle of the Flowers

Also taking place every August is the Battle of the Flowers Festival, undoubtedly one of the island's largest and most famous events. The festival celebrates the Royal Coronation and was first hosted in 1902. The festival spans two days and culminates in an impressive firework display and moonlight parade.

  • Festival of food and drink

The Festival of Food and Drink is hosted in May and as its name would suggest, is a celebration the island's culinary offerings. Festival goers are treated to tastings and workshops held by celebrity chefs.
