The wonders of Rome and Venice
Step into the iconic Caesars Palace and you'll step back in time to Ancient Rome. Shop in The Forum Shops or relax with cocktails in the Garden of the Gods Pool Oasis or the floating Cleopatra's Barge. When the sun sets, dine like Italian royalty in Bacchanal before heading to the Colosseum Theatre - host to big names from Celine Dion to Elton John. If you prefer the glorious beauty of Venice rather than the ancient stateliness of Rome, stay instead at The Venetian Resort and its neighbour, the Palazzo. The casinos have marble floors and frescoed ceilings while the highlight of your Italian trip will be a gondola ride on the Grand Canal which is lined with Italian-style shops.
The sights of Paris
While the Las Vegas version of Paris isn't quite as romantic as the City of Light, Caesars also delivers a whistle-stop tour of Parisian landmarks. The Paris Las Vegas Casino has facades that realistically imitate the Opera House, the Louvre and even the 34-storey Hotel de Ville. Inside, try your luck at authentic French roulette wheels where the 0 and 00 are missing, slightly improving the odds in your favour. Don't miss the half-scale Eiffel Tower where a glass lift whisks you up to the observation deck and the Eiffel Tower Restaurant. Keep the French theme going with champagne in Napoleon's, entertainment at Le Cabaret and dancing in the Chateau Nightclub & Rooftop.
Luxor - the Egypt of pharaohs and pyramids
The Luxor is a shrine to everything Egyptian. The main focus is a 30-storey black glass pyramid. At the peak of its atrium (once the largest in the world) is a 40-billion candlepower beam which sends a shaft of light 1.6 km into the sky - maybe not something Egyptian tomb-builders had in mind! To enter the pyramid you pass a 10-storey sphinx and hieroglyphic-etched obelisk while the interior is crammed with Egyptian-themed statues and structures including a huge replica of the Great Temple of Ramses II. While the Luxor has been updated and streamlined in recent years with some of its Egyptian excesses removed, it still delivers an authentic taste of Ancient Egypt.
The Big Apple experience in Las Vegas
The mini-megalopolis of New York-New York has so many NY replicas that it's hard to remember whether you're actually in Las Vegas or have hopped on a plane to the Big Apple. The Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building and Brooklyn Bridge are just some of the sights to see while the Big Apple Arcade and Roller Coaster provide plenty of fun for thrill-seekers. The resort's shops are hidden behind facades straight from New York - Park Avenue, Times Square and Greenwich Village are just some areas to browse. When hunger hits, act as a true New Yorker would and feast on burgers from Shake Shack or hot dogs from Nathan's Famous Hot Dog.
Las Vegas - full of don't-miss attractions
If you don't have the bucks in your budget to play the big casinos, then the Pinball Hall of Fame is a no-frills version with 200 or more vintage pinball and video games to enjoy. The MOB Museum - officially, the National Museum of Organised Crime & Law Enforcement - is housed in a historic courthouse where mobsters were sentenced in the 1950s. This hands-on museum tells the story of organised crime in the USA. It's also home to a speakeasy and working distillery. At the Fremont Street Experience, you can shop, play the slots and test your nerve on the ziplines during the day. Then, return after dark to enjoy its spectacular light and sound show.
Family fun Las Vegas-style
Although many activities in Las Vegas are adult-themed there's no shortage of family-friendly fun to be had. Burn off excess energy with a few hours of watery play at Wet 'n' Wild Las Vegas before letting them loose in the M&M's World Store which you'll find in Showcase Mall. This store is huge and the kids can even customise their own candy-coated chocolates. Older children will enjoy the adrenaline-pumping rides found at The STRAT Hotel, Casino and Skypod. One hundred stories above the ground are four of the world's highest rides including the stomach-lurching Skyjump and gravity-defying Insanity.
It's showtime in Las Vegas
Continue your Las Vegas world tour through its shows. There are few places away from London's West End and New York's Broadway where so many A-listers gather to entertain you. Big names such as Elton John, Lady Gaga, David Copperfield, Celine Dion and Barry Manilow top the cabaret bills while regular shows include five mesmerising Cirque du Soleil productions, Absinthe at Caesars Palace, the Blue Man Group at Luxor and, for the kids, Marvel Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N at Treasure Island Las Vegas. You can even soak up the sun and sip cocktails while watching poolside concerts at The Cosmopolitan or Mandalay Bay.
