LIAT flights
LIAT (Leeward Island Air Transportation) has been in operation since 1956 as a Caribbean regional airline. As of February 1st, 2007 LIAT and Caribbean Star Airlines have combined their flight operations in preparation for a full merger. This is done to combine the best of both carriers into a new airline to strengthen Caribbean air travel. The new airline will be named LIAT, the Star of the Caribbean. The new LIAT serves 22 Caribbean gateways, those previously served by both carriers. The main hubs are Antigua, VC Bird International Airport, and Barbuda, Grantley Adams International Airport, Barbados. LIAT's fleet consists of nine De Havilland Bombardier Dash-8 Q300s, and three Dash-8 Q100s, all large propeller planes with a 50 seat configuration and one class.
