LATAM in short
LATAM Airlines is a South American airline holding company, and is headquartered in Santiago, Chile. The company was founded in 2012, so it is quite new. As of 2016, LATAM is one of the largest airline groups in the world in terms of network connections. It has a fleet of 320 airplanes at its disposal. The LATAM Group is made up of 12 subsidiaries, each operating in a different country in South America.
Check-in
Check-in with LATAM Airlines is fast and easy. You have the option of checking in online, which allows you to get ahead of the procedure that you would normally have to go through when you arrive on the airport. Make sure that you print out your boarding pass once you have checked in online. If you prefer to check in offline, then visit one of the LATAM counters at the airport to drop off your bags and receive your boarding pass.
Carry-on baggage
The maximum weight of your carry-on baggage is 8kg in Economy class and 16kg in Premium Economy or Premium Business class. The maximum dimensions are 55cm x 35cm x 25cm (Width x Height x Depth). Besides this, you are allowed to take one small item on board of the flight with you. For instance an umbrella or a laptop.
Checked baggage
The total combined measurements of the checked baggage that you are allowed to bring on board with you are 158cm. ( Width x Height x Length). The maximum weight of your checked baggage for international flights from and to Oceania, is 46 kilos that is distributed between two bags of 23kg each if you are flying Economy. If you are flying Premium Business or Premium Economy, you are allowed to take a total of three bags, 23kg each on board with you.
In-flight service
Some of the airplanes that are owned by LATAM have a personal entertainment system, in the form of a screen, on which you can watch a wide selection of movies, TV series, music and play games. You can also choose to download the LATAM entertainment application on your phone, with which you will be sure to be entertained throughout the entire flight.
travel classes
The range of travel classes that LATAM offers, consists of Economy class, which is the least expensive of the three, but still manages to offer quality and comfort on board of a flight. Premium Economy is the more expensive travel class, with certain perks to it such as exclusive entertainment in the form of Ipods, DVD players and other devices. The most expensive travel class is the Premium Business class, which offers expandable chairs that turn into sleeping beds among other things.
